I think about a world to come where the books were found by the golden ones, written in pain, written in awe by a puzzled man who questioned, "What are we here for?" All the strangers came today and it looks as though they're here to stay.

LibriVox

LibriVox is a web site dedicated to providing readers access to free audiobooks transcribed from books and writing that are in the public domain.

LibriVox audiobooks are recorded by volunteers. My personal favorite recordings are the renderings of Charles Dickens' Our Mutual Friend by Alan Chant from Tonbridge, Kent, England. Download whichever books or chapters you wish. No obligation. If you feel a special need to give back then you have the option to volunteer to record for LibriVox. This web site has saved some friends of mine in graduate school. Check it out at LibriVox.org.
