I think about a world to come where the books were found by the golden ones, written in pain, written in awe by a puzzled man who questioned, "What are we here for?" All the strangers came today and it looks as though they're here to stay.

8-Bit Dark Side of the Moon

I used to hold the belief that it's impossible to cover a Pink Floyd song, that they did everything perfectly from the start. It is probably still true that they did everything perfectly from the start, but it certainly isn't true that you can't cover a Pink Floyd song. The Flaming Lips made Dark Side of the Moon into their own album in 2009, and MOON8 has done the same by re-imagining what the album would sound like if it were made for NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) instead of for a rock band.

The entire album is available as a YouTube playlist.

"Speak to Me" / "Breathe" / "On The Run"

"Time" / "Breathe Reprise"

"The Great Gig in the Sky"

"Money"

"Us And Them"

"Any Colour You Like" / "Brain Damage" / "Eclipse"

You can also download it at MOON8's home page.
