Put simply,
Rubber can be described as the story of a self-aware and animate tire with psychokinetic powers who develops an appetite for destruction. But there's more to
Rubber. The beginning monologue hilariously describes
Rubber as an homage to things in film that simply don't make sense, suggesting, in a very postmodern fashion, that the audience is part of the film. The cinematography is fantastic and, barring a re-watch of
Paul (it was St. Patrick's day when I saw
Paul, so as you can imagine I had a little too much fun to actually pay attention to the movie),
Rubber may be the first great movie of 2011.
