Hanson "Optimistic" (Radiohead Cover) Live

I gotta say, this is one of the best Radiohead covers I've ever heard. If those kids had slightly better direction I'd be behind them 100%.

  1. Hi Justin! Thank you for sharing this performance by Hanson! You're right, it rocks:) Hey, good news is Hanson does have pretty good direction! :) What I mean here is, you've gotta watch their film documentary "Strong Enough to Break." It chronicles their departure from record label Island def Jam in favor of becoming independent and creating their own label so they will have more creative freedom.Their original label Mercury unfortunately got absorbed by hip hop label Island def Jam in 2000 because of a merger. Mercury Records and Hanson were a great tandem, with Mercury really understanding and honing Hanson...Island def Jam turned out to really not understand where Hanson was coming from when it comes to music, and they also seemed to concentrate more about manufacturing hits rather than getting truly involved and enthusiastic about the artistic process. The film really gives you a look, a perspective of how major label systems may sometimes work. Sometimes, the business matters are a label's priority than the artistic...Check it out!I'm sure you will like it. Here's a link from YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arfx4i-050I

Thank you. Let me know what you think! :)
